In 2014, relaunched with a template that is now used for all Hearst brand re-designs. The new design features a cleaned-up, responsive site that was built with mobile in mind, which now accounts for more than 70% of the brand’s traffic today. The CMS is now highly customizable, allowing editors to drag and drop breaking stories, article collections and photo galleries anywhere on the site.

The top bar is reserved for feature stories which are targeted to readers using an algorithm that accounts for both the stories they click on and how far they scroll into the stories. The new site also focused on prime real-estate for advertisers. The site seamlessly integrates ad units within the story feed and any article or collection can easily be attached to a specific sponsor with just one click.

As a result of the Cosmo re-launch, the template is being used for all of Hearst’s websites.
