Vulture Hires Three

On Feb. 18, New York magazine and Vulture.com culture editor Lane Brown announced these three staff additions to the entertainment and culture news Website:

  1. Gazelle Emami, senior editor (pictured). The former Huffington Post culture editor-turned-deputy features editor is an alumna of the University of California (Berkeley). She started on Feb. 2.

  2. Lauretta Charlton, associate editor. The former Complex magazine associate editor’s writing credits include The Wall Street Journal, Black Entertainment Television, Stereogum and The Awl. The University of San Francisco graduate starts on Feb. 23.

  3. Dee Lockett, associate editor.The former editorial assistant in Slate‘s culture department also wrote for the Complex Media Pigeons & Planes music sites. Lockett received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Syracuse University (the latter at SU’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications), and she started on Feb. 9.
