Troy Young, President, Hearst Magazines Digital Media

Troy Young is the president of Hearst Magazines Digital Media. This is an extremely significant role, as Young is in charge of shaping the company’s digital progress, overseeing the magazine division’s 26 online brands which includes titles such as Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire. Before joining Hearst, Young was a digital media executive and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in digital publishing and advertising. He has held roles as president of Say Media, where he helped shape its corporate, product and brand strategy.Young has also developed a content portfolio to include fast-growing brands such as xoJane and Remodelista.

Since joining Hearst in 2013, Young has certainly shaken up the status quo, tripling traffic at Cosmo, nixing old-school floor plans and relaunching websites. Young championed the Cosmo redesign back in 2014, which is now the template upon which all of Hearst’s magazine sites are built. Other Hearst brands are making the transition to the same platform as Cosmo, and Young is paving the way.
