About the Webinar:

According to an upcoming report from eMarketer, the $165.4 billion in Web retail sales from 2010 will grow steadily to reach $269.8 billion by 2015. As traditional sources of revenue continue to shrink, leading-edge media companies are developing e-retail storefronts to generate serious revenue. But setting up a profitable e-commerce business takes more than a Paypal account. Tune in as four media e-commerce experts share steps and strategies you can use to build out your own online storefront.

Speakers: Cassie Troiano of The Knot, Florent Peyre of Gilt City, Marko Hurst of HUGE and Marta Worhle of Accord Media share their online-retail secrets and strategies.

Magazines have always defined cultural tastes and directed purchase habits. But now, in the digital age, content can be directly linked to product sales. Join us for this min Webinar that will open up a new revenue stream for your media brand and deliver best practices for connecting e-commerce to your content.

There are many ways for publishers to become a part of that purchase funnel, from affiliate relationships and lead generation to partnering with group buying clubs and direct sales. At this min Webinar attendees will learn from their peers how they found new revenue streams in the e-retail economy while safely navigating the complex relationships with providers hoping to attach their offers to branded content.

Our panelists will outline the complex decisions publishers need to make before executing an e-commerce strategy. What are the policies and safeguards for maintaining editorial integrity? How do you find and choose the best partners and models that fit your audience, their buying patterns and your brand? What are the expectations of return on investment? And where do e-commerce prompts work best in the context of the reading experience?

How does the Webinar work?

The live audio is delivered to your location over the telephone or your computer speakers. The Power-Point presentations are presented over the Internet and are available to print out before the program. This is like a talk-radio program with visuals on the Web. You and your team will be able to have a live Q&A with all the speakers.
You need Adobe Flash or Windows Media Player installed on your computer. If you do not have either, please follow the instructions below to download and install them. Or if you prefer, a phone for the audio and an Internet connection to let you watch the slides and other information on the Web will suffice. No other downloads or special hardware - a dial-up connection will work fine.

  • One (1) set of materials (you may make copies for all of the persons you invited to listen to the program);
  • One (1) toll-free connection to the seminar (if you select the audio connection), and
  • One (1) Internet connection to the seminar.

Use speakers on your computer or speakerphone on your telephone and invite your entire staff to attend for one low price of $329.00 USD per site.

What equipment do I need?

For the audio connection:
