BIOGRAPHY
Julie Bort is an award-winning journalist and is currently working as online community editor for Network World. In her role at Network World, Bort has created three vibrant online "community" websites that generate about 1 million page views per month: Cisco Subnet (www.ciscosubnet.com) Microsoft Subnet (www.microsoftsubnet.com) and Google Subnet (www.googlesubnet.com). Bort also recruits and manages over 30 contributing bloggers for these sites and for Network World’s website at large. She is heavily involved in her publication’s social media efforts including participating in social networks like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and in news aggregation sites like Digg, Reddit and Slashdot. Bort has been a journalist since 1988 and has published over 1,000 articles and columns in a dozen countries covering business, technology and other topics. Bort’s work has been honored with 24 national and regional awards from organizations such as the American Society of Business Press Editors and Folio magazine. Bort has also penned two books: Building an Extranet [John Wiley & Sons, 1997] and the popular parenting book Mommy Guilt [AMACOM Books, 2005] |
