BIOGRAPHYJason Averett
Jason Averett joined Entertainment Weekly’s EW.com in July 2007 as senior video producer. In his role, he oversees, programs, and executes all video offerings for Entertainment Weekly’s web site. Averett’s history with Entertainment Weekly began in 1998 when he worked as a coordinator in the marketing department. In 2000, he was promoted to public relations manager, before becoming a video producer/marketing consultant in 2002. During his first stint with the publication, Averett established video at Entertainment Weekly, creating numerous sales/event tools, and working on a variety of TV specials that included partnerships with MTV and TNT. In 2004, Averett left Entertainment Weekly to found and run his video and film company, Loosely Translated Productions. In this capacity, he developed projects for AOL, Best Buy, Sports Illustrated, Forbes, MPA, Loews Theaters, New York Television Festival, OK Magazine, People Magazine, Teen People, Toys R Us, Transport Group, Travel & Leisure Magazine, SixDegrees.org, and many others. Since his return to EW.com, Averett has been responsible for creating such popular series as Idolatry, Totally Lost, Survivor Talk, Must List Live, and OscarWatch, among many others.
