Clark Pettit came to lead ABM this summer at a momentous time. Business publishing had just survived one of its deepest recessions. And just as ABM was rethinking its own strategy, the man associated with the group since 1994, Gordon T. Hughes, decided it was time to move on. Pettit is bringing to bear all of his experience developing new businesses and strategy for Accenture and Ascent Media. He has been on a listening tour of the ABM membership and has enhanced ABM’s coverage of agribusiness, political policies and events with newsletters to serve these increasingly important elements in the revenue mix.

As 2011 progresses, ABM and its new leader will be pressing hard to be at the center of the new b2b ecosystem. ● —SS
