2009 Top 21 Social Media Superstars: Sophia Stuart, Executive Director, Mobile, Hearst Digital Media

U.K. native Sophia Stuart has shown herself to be an enterprising whiz when it comes to knowing how to build mobile content and services across Hearst brands that target women on the go. “I’m all about the [female] consumer,” she says. “Whatever makes a woman’s life easier and saves money is something she embraces. I’m not interested in hype.” Representing magazine brands such as Cosmo, Redbook and Good Housekeeping, Stuart, a one-time journalist who joined Hearst Magazines Digital Media in June 2008, is always on the lookout for innovative ways to maximize the scale and reach of the many mobile apps she works with, all of which she tests ruthlessly. “If it doesn’t work, we’re not buying,” she maintains.
