As the author of She Means Business: 7 New Rules for Marketing to Today’s Woman, a how-to guide for marketers trying to connect with women, Schneider’s influence and knowledge of targeting this demographic resonates throughout all of Time Inc.’s Lifestyle brands, which include Cooking Light, Real Simple, This Old House and All You. Recently, following an extensive reevaluation, Schneider led an overhaul of these brands, collaborating closely with the editors and sales staff. And the seeds of his labors are starting to bear fruit: The re-designed September 2009 issue of Cooking Light is the first issue from the group to be up in pages since 2007, and the October and November 2009 issues of the new Southern Living are up, respectively, 14% and 21% year-over-year.
