Under Anthony Licata’s leadership, Field & Stream (which Licata joined in 1998 as an associate editor) has been the recipient of numerous industry  laurels, among them a 2009 National Magazine Award for Overall Excellence. The 15th editor in the publication’s 114-year history, Licata has skillfully navigated Field & Stream through some rough economic minefields, establishing Field & Stream as a mainstream brand commmitted to conservation. What makes Licata especially intriguing is that since being named editor-in-chief of Field & Stream, he has become the face of a publication that has crossed ideological and partisan lines in its readership. He is also responsible for raising the editorial bar of a longtime brand.
