Entrepreneur and the Women Presidents’ Organization Launch the 2nd Annual Ranking of Top 50 Fastest-Growing Women-Led Companies

NEW YORK, May 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Entrepreneur magazine, in partnership with the Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO), has launched the 2nd annual ranking of the 50 fastest-growing women-owned/led companies in North America. To be eligible for the ranking, businesses are required to be privately held, woman-owned/led companies in the U.S. or Canada and have reached revenue of at least $100,000 by the first week of 2003 and $1 million in 2007. All eligible companies are ranked according to a sales growth formula that combines percentage and absolute growth. From this list, the 50 fastest are selected. The deadline for applications is July 1, 2008, and the winners will be published in the November issue of Entrepreneur.

The WPO is the premier peer advisory organization for women presidents who have guided their businesses to at least $2 million in gross annual sales or $1 million for a service-based business. With over 1,300 members and 81 chapters located internationally, the WPO has experienced rapid growth since its inception. Last year the 50 Fastest(TM) generated a combined $2.8 billion in 2006 sales alone (up from $810 million in 2002) and employed nearly 12,000 individuals.
