Peter Medwid Named Martha Stewart Living PublisherWednesday, January 18, 2012 This morning (Jan. 18), Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia chief revenue officer Joe Lagani announced the hire of Peter Medwid as senior VP/publisher of the Martha Stewart Living flagship and the promotion of MSLO VP/integrated Medwid, a Time Inc. veteran, was most recently publisher of both Coastal Living and Sunset (the two are part of the Time Inc. Lifestyle Group) after having moved from People associate publisher. Outside Time Inc., he worked at Cosmopolitan, Disney Adventures and Parade. Medwid's hire (he fills the vacancy created by Sally Preston becoming Real Simple publisher) and Cranley's promotion are keys to what Lagani calls "aligning the MSLO sales team around individual brands" to better showcase "their unique personalities and attributes." He says that Cranley "has done a terrific job driving our cross-platform programs and is reader for a new challenge as publisher of two of our up-and-coming brands" in Everyday Food and Whole Living. Lagani cites Martha Stewart Weddings senior VP/publisher (since Feb. 2007) Amy Wilkins as a company role model "in successfully proving that real focus on a specific brand can have a profound impact." Wilkins was min's June 2011 Sales Team Leader of the Year (with People publisher Karen Kovacs and then-People StyleWatch publisher Karin Tracy), and MSW was among 2011's top bimonthly ad-page performers in the minonline story posted today (Jan. 18).
