Kate Julian Joins The Atlantic as Senior Editor

Monday, February 6, 2012 Kate Julian, a past managing editor of The New Yorker and senior editor at O (Oprah magazine), started Monday (Feb. 6) as The Atlantic senior editor. Most recently, Julian had been serving as acting editor of Slate's "Double XX"

section, and a key responsibility for her at The Atlantic is the "Dispatches" section. She is also editing feature stories.

Julian, who becomes a top lieutenant to The Atlantic deputy editor Scott Stossel, has also worked for The Washington Post ("Outlook" section) and the Council on Foreign Relations.
