MIN FEATURE PERSON
India Honors Newsweek's Fareed Zakaria U.S. presidential Medal of Freedom, as both go to leading civilians.Interestingly, the Mumbai native is Muslim in the Hindu-dominated country known for its religious strife internally and with neighboring Pakistan. Zakaria came to the U.S. to study political science at Yale (B.A.) and Harvard (Ph.D.). Being managing editor of Foreign Affairs was his stepping stone to Newsweek and provided much visibility through his work in print (in the magazine and in his writing 2008's The Post-American World) and TV. Pre-CNN (2008), he was a panelist on ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos and hosted PBS' Foreign Exchange. COMMENTS
