Charter Named SVP/News and Operations, Tribune

Steve Charlier has been appointed senior vice president/news and operations for Tribune Broadcasting and Local TV LLC. Prior to joining Tribune, Charlier held several jobs at Local TV stations in Phoenix, Seattle, and Salt Lake City. In 2005, he was named vice president/news director of KOVR-TV and KMAX-TV in Sacramento, where he developed the first-of-its-kind early morning interactive news broadcast based largely on content from the Internet.

"I’m really not interested in doing traditional TV news," said Charlier.
