Sarah Lacey Joins BusinessWeek.com as Print Pub Goes Through Redesign Lacy is best known for co-writing the BusinessWeek cover story “Valley Boys” with Jessi Hempel, which chronicled Digg.com founder Kevin Rose’s rise to internet power, and caused serious controversy in the tech sector when it greatly exaggerated just how much Rose made. In particular, the cover was ridiculed by numerous sources for claiming Rose has made $60 million in just 18 months, when the story itself reported just $3 million a year in earnings, breaking even. Regardless of the negative press with which the story pelted her, Lacy was still popular enough that she garnered a book deal with Penguin Publishing, exploring the rise of new Internet entrepreneurs and Web 2.0 technology. Lacy is a ten year veteran of business reporting, specializing in technology ventures and start-ups. In addition to writing for BusinessWeek, she has reported for the San Jose/Silicon Valley Business Journal. Meanwhile, BusinessWeek is going through a redesign that will be unveiled on October 12 (read Mediaweek's article about it here). The min team will be there on October 11 to celebrate with the brand.
