B2B FEATURE PERSON
Wolff to lead AdweekMediaMonday, October 4, 2010 E5 Global Media announced this morning that longtime Vanity Fair columnist, leader of aggregator Newser and all-around enfant terrible in digital media Michael Wolff will be the new editorial director for Adweek, Mediaweek and Brandweek. Wolff starts at his post today. Wolff is the provocative media columnist who also penned a recent biography of Rupert Murdoch and the classic tale of digital bubble era excess, Burn Rate. In a statement at the Adweek site, e5 CEO Richard Beckman said, “There is no other editor and writer with more passion and edge about the media business than Michael Wolff.” Beckman added that e5 was ready to make significant investments in the print and digital brands. For his part, Wolff said that the new assignment offers the opportunity “to put ourselves in the sweet spot of what we are covering…I want to make some trouble." E5 Global Media was created earlier this year when Beckman and others acquired The Hollywood Reporter and the Adweek/Mediaweek/Brandweek titles from Nielsen.
