B2B FEATURE PERSON
Klaassen Named Ad Age EditorFriday, August 6, 2010 Abbey Klaassen has been promoted to editor of Crain's Advertising Age; she had served as executive editor since December and before that as digital editor since 2005. Former Ad Age editor Jonah Bloom resigned last December to become CEO and editor-in-chief of b2b blog network Breaking Media. (He has since left for undisclosed reasons.) Klaassen's move was part of a broader reorganization of Ad Age's editorial. Former managing editor (since 2000) Judann Pollack was promoted to executive editor. Ken Wheaton was named managing editor, from assistant managing editor. Pollack has been with Ad Age, working in both New York and Chicago offices, since 1985. Wheaton has served in a variety of roles, including copy editor and features editor, since 2000. "With Abbey, Judy and Ken assuming key editorial leadership roles at Advertising Age, we have never been better prepared to help our readers understand and deal with the complexities of the advertising marketplace as well as to formulate new services to help readers do their jobs more effectively," said Rance Crain, editor-in-chief of Ad Age and president of Crain Communications Inc., in a statement.
