Zinio Awards Emmy Its Own Digi-Magazine  The booklet uses Zinio’s digital magazine format, which allows for Web-like interactivity within pages that look much like print. The nominee pages, for instance occupy a single page but clicking on thumbnails of the nominees changes the page to their respective profile. More than 100 images are included in a quarter as many pages. The attractive demo title does show how digital magazines offer a pleasant venue for slideshows. The magazine was developed in partnership with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Chief Administrative Officer of the Academy Frank Kohler says that the digital magazine format complements the relaunch of Emmys.com and also demonstrates the organization’s environmental responsibility in eliminating and distribution footprints. Zinio is one of the oldest providers of digital magazine technology and distribution services. Their catalog of titles includes Vogue, Popular Photography, Woman's Day and Maxim. The company also publishes its own Web-only digital publication for women, Vivmag. Zinio was acquired in 2007 by Gilvest LP and its owner David Gilmour, the founder of FIJI Water.
