What Is Your Twitter Mojo?Wednesday, August 19, 2009 Well, you may or may not agree with the algorithms, but if you go to Yahoo’s new Know Your Mojo site and plug in your or your site’s Twitter user name, the service will characterize your participation on the microblog. According to the site, minonline’s Twitter presence plays the role of “Matchmaker.” The engine analyzes the kinds of posts, re-tweets and links you post to your Twitter feed and comes up with more than a dozen possible profiles of your Twitter output. According to the site, being a Matchmaker means that minonline is a “whiz” at linking you to other material. ![]() The new Yahoo site is a rare example of one major Web brand using the insane popularity of another to promote itself. Beside each of the Mojo characterizations is a series of suggested feeds to add to your Yahoo home page. In recent weeks the portal redesigned its main page and is using “Know Your Mojo” to grab some of Twitter’s own Mojo for itself. We couldn’t resist plugging in some of the magazine industry’s Twitter feeds to see what came out: @Playboy, for instance, is a “Tweethead,” which means “You’re a huge fan of just about everything you read, and you’re got all the re-tweets to prove it.” @complexmag is, like us, a Matchmaker. @wired is a “Party Animal.” With lots of followers, they tweet and re-tweet “til the break of dawn.” @MarthaStewart, @UsWeekly and @PeopleMag get special mention as their feeds merit “Headliner” status. “You’re the star of the Twitter-sphere,” the site says. These sites have enough followers and re-tweets to “rival the likes of Perez Hilton and Ashton Kutcher.” Other Mojos include “Novelist” (you have a lot to say), “Concierge” (show people to the best URLs in town) and “B.F.F.” (a lot of @replies). The seriousness of this Twitter evaluation engine is an open question, of course. Try entering your site multiple times and see if you really get the same result.
