Tom Weber joins Time as Assistant Managing EditorTuesday, February 7, 2012 Tom Weber, who is a past managing editor of Newsweek and The Daily Beast, was hired as Time assistant managing editor on Monday (Feb. 6). He is responsible for features--both in print and online--as well as "helping to shape our digital strategy," says Time managing editor (since June 2006) Rick Stengel. Weber's other credentials include being The Wall Street Journal's first-ever Internet columnist and helping to launch the newspaper's Saturday Weekend section in 2005. He is also a past editor of SmartMoney.com. Weber is continuing to teach journalism at Princeton University, where he serves as a trustee of The Daily Princetonian.
