Tennis.com Sports New Fashion Sense in RedesignThursday, January 28, 2010 Months after redesigning Tennis magazine, Miller Publishing Group had its Web site play catch-up and has relaunched Tennis.com. Editor-in-chief James Martin calls the cleaner design and more intuitive interface a “return to tennis whites.” The site increased its use of white space around a large marquee of rotating features and panels of headlines and images. The new design sense helps organize the deep wells of podcasts, and the site emphasizes its library of action images, blogs and a daily “ticker” of breaking news. Tennis.com also added a new content element, The Daily Spin, which includes the latest buzz and gossip from the tennis world. The attractive section of pop culture fare includes topics like fashion reviews of the tennis stars, analyses of on-court trends—such as athletes pounding their chests—and celebrity sightings at courtside. Larger galleries highlight fashion associated with the sport. And a new shopping area accesses buyers’ guides for tennis racquets and shoes. As we report in next week’s min Digital Media Boxscores, Tennis.com enjoyed a substantial bump in traffic in November 2009, expanding its audience to 2.3 million unique users. ![]() If you have breaking news to share please contact Steve Smith at ssmith@accessintel.com
