Scott Alexander Named American Photo Editor-in-ChiefWednesday, February 16, 2011 Scott Alexa  nder, Playboy senior editor for the past seven years, is the new editor-in-chief of American Photo. Announcement by Bonnier Corp. technology group editorial director Mark Jannot fills the void created by the 2010 departure of Sarah Kinbar.Alexander's Playboy specialty was technology, which is endemic to AP. He has also worked at Scholastic, Ziff-Davis, CNET and Popular Science. Bonnier acquired the bimonthly, 153,620 circulation AP from Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. in 2009. Five-magazine sale (includes Boating and Popular Photography) was a prelude to HFM parent Lagardère Active SCA agreeing to sell or lease its non-French media properties to Hearst Corp. on Jan. 31, 2011.
