SPIN and AMEX Deliver Sponsored Concert Via Facebook nightly concert series is available on the AMEX Facebook page but only to those who give the page the now-ubiquitous Facebook “Like” vote. Users have to go to the designated Facebook page and link their Facebook ID with AMEX via Facebook Connect. Once you are logged in and can vote “Like” to the series, you are let through this sponsored velvet rope to the goods. Sponsor messages from the ZYNC card by American Express abound, of course, but for fans of rock the ticket to ride seems to be only sharing your social network identity with the sponsor.In June American Express ZYNC held a contest to bring winners to the city for the concerts. Most of the shows have been held at Terminal 5, featuring Smashing Pumpkins, Flaming Lips, Black Keys and The National. A final concert on Friday night (July 30) is being performed by Spiritualized at Radio City Music Hall. After a year of experimentation with the Facebook social network publishers and brands are starting to play creatively with the connectivity and universally accessible platform the site provides. Sponsors are starting to appear on media sites, and the social network can be used to directly link media to a sponsor.
