Prevention Editor Vaccariello Steps Down

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Liz Vaccariello, the Prevention editor-in-chief since July 2006 who subsequently added senior VP to her title, is resigning, effective April 30.

No reason was given in a company statement, but Vaccariello has branched out in writing the Rodale-published Flat Belly Diet! and 400 Calorie Fix, plus she was a TV "regular" on The Doctors with frequent appearances on other daytime talk shows. She will continue to represent Rodale with the books.

Cleveland-born Vaccariello was Fitness executive editor when she was hired by 2000-2009 Rodale president Steve Murphy to succeed Rosemary Ellis, who moved to Good Housekeeping editor-in-chief.

Rodale senior VP/editorial director Bill Stump has begun a search for Vaccariello's successor.
