Pilar Guzmán Named Martha Stewart Living Editor-in-ChiefTuesday, March 8, 2011
Pilar Guzmán, editor-in-chief of Condé Nast's Cookie throughout its 2005-2009 publication, is the new editor-in-chief of Martha Stewart Living. Guzmán succeeds Vanessa Holden, who had served since her Jan. 2010 promotion and has left the magazine.Guzmán was highly regarded at Cookie, an upscale parenting magazine that CN shut down in October 2009 as a result of the poor economy. Since then, she she was a co-founder of momfilter.com and, in that capacity, she wrote the family-dinner cookbook Time for Dinner (Chronicle Books), which was excepted in the October 2010 Parenting. Guzmán will start at MSL on March 14 and report to monthly's chief creative and editorial director Gael Towey. Latter is a past editor-in-chief, as is Stephen Drucker, who recently left Town & Country. Guzmán is married to Condé Nast Traveler VP/publisher Chris Mitchell.
