Penton Sells Five Titles to NewBay Media

New York-based Penton Media has sold five properties from its Digital Media and Communications division to NewBay Media. They are Mix, Electronic Musician (both based in Emeryville, Calif.), Radio, Sound & Video Contractor (both in Overland Park, Kans.) and DigitalContentProducer.com. Terms were not disclosed.

In December 2009, NewBay bought Broadcasting & Cable and Multichannel News from Reed Business Information. Earlier NewBay acquisitions in the audio/broadcast/video genre came from IMAS in July 2007 and from CMP Entertainment Media in September 2006.

In December 2010, Penton acquired Nation's Restaurant News—the restaurant trades leader—from Lebhar-Friedman.
