Michele Murphy Named Prevention Associate Publisher/MarketingWednesday, June 13, 2012 On Monday (June 11), hired-in-April Prevention publisher Lori Burgess made Michele Murphy a top lieutenant selecting her as associate publisher/marketing. Murphy had a much-acclaimed 1996-2006 stint at Prevention and  at parent Rodale, where she rose to corporate vp/group sales and integrated marketing.That led to her 2005 recruiting by the National Geographic Society, where Murphy's five-year tenure as VP/global marketing included managing a staff of 27 and establishing the first-ever New York-based marketing department for National Geographic, NationalGeographic.com and the sister publications. Says Burgess: “We are thrilled to have Michele rejoining our senior management team as we reinvent Prevention’s marketing platform in a way that reaffirms our authority position within the nation’s conversations around health, wellness and longevity.
