MSLO, Fine Living, MiGi Vets Launch Momologie BrandTuesday, October 27, 2009 It is good to be mom. In addition to getting all of the special joys and rewards of motherhood, it seems that much of the Web revolves around you. With the popularity of women’s content continuing to rise, and a new class of “Mommy Bloggers” becoming a new force in content and marketing, moms are the current stars of the Internet. One more content provider enters the cluttered field this week, boasting a pedigree in the magazine and TV worlds. Momologie is a new Web site and e-mail newsletter that celebrates family interaction. The content focuses on family gatherings, food, travel, beauty home and organization. Its founders, Gia Russo and Michele Adams met while working at Martha Stewart Living in the 90s. They later formed the MiGi girls brand that hosted shows on Fine Living Network as well as on AOL. The company describes its content as “highly editorialized,” and a premium seems to be placed on design sense in all of the digital materials. It is aspiring to be a “glossy magazine online” and to feel like a “reliable friend.” Each daily newsletter focuses on a single theme, and the site compiles articles, check-lists and the blog by Gia and Michele. Women's content is one of the growth categories online. According to comScore, 102 million unique visitors came to the genre in 2008, and the audience for the content grew 46% from the year before.
