Libby Conover Is Marie Claire International Fashion Director
Monday, August 4, 2014
On Aug. 4, 4¾-year Marie Claire publisher and chief revenue officer Nancy Cardone announced the hire of Elizabeth ("Libby") Conover as the Hearst Magazines monthly's international fashion director.
Her having the title at Elle from Aug. 2005-Feb. 2008 and again from Sept. 2008-May 2011 with Details in between from March 2008-Sept. 2008 suggests a comfortable acclimation when she starts on Aug. 18.
Conover's Mare Claire hire follows more than 2½ years as style and entertainment director at GQ, which welcomed its first ad director of international fashion with the July 21 hire of Bobby Graham.
Marie Claire's growing number of international advertisers (Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Prada, etc.) will keep Conover busy from the start.
