Larry Webster Named Road & Track Editor-in-Chief
Monday, June 4, 2012
Larry Webster (pictured), Popular Mechanics automotive editor since Jan. 2010, was promoted by his boss--PM editor-in-chief (since May 2004) Jim Meigs--to Road & Track editor-in-chief on May 31. Meigs has doubled as editorial director of the PM/R&T/Car and Driver-member Hearst Men's Enthusiast Group since June 2011.
Concurrently R&T is relocating its editorial offices from Newport Beach, Calif., to Ann Arbor, Mich.--where C&D is based.
Webster succeeds Matt DeLorenzo, who is transitioning into "an advisory role for the magazine."
Says Meigs: "I’m glad to welcome Larry on board to lead the team and oversee the transition to Michigan. His wealth of experience will deepen the relationship that Road & Track has with its readers and also enhance the offerings of the brand."
Michigan is familiar turf for Webster, as he was PM Detroit editor from 2008-2010.
