InStyle Weddings To Close: 9 Laid Off This closure comes on the heels of Conde Nast’s folding of Modern Bride and Elegant Bride. Time Inc. sources admit that the spin-off of InStyle was no longer viable in the current environment where the wedding market has deteriorated sharply. InStyle is quick to point out that the core brand will continue to publish its special issues around hair and fashion, both of which sold more than 200,000 copies at newsstand in 2009 and will be repeated in 2010. The core InStyle magazine sold 772,000 copies on newsstand on average each month in Q3. InStyle was up slightly in ad pages during Q3 2009 compared to the year-ago period, according to Publishers Information Bureau data.
