BREAKING NEWS & VIEWS
Hearst Digital Launches Recipe Compendium Both Hearst Digital Media senior VP/GM Chuck Cordray and RecipeBridge co-founder (2009) Andy Theimer say that GreatRecipes.com will simplify "multiple Google searches required to find that 'great recipe'" because, in part, of such user-friendly search term criteria as forming a recipe from the food contents in their refrigerator or based on specific diet needs. (Example: dishes based on limited amounts of milk, butter, etc.) Plus, users are welcome to submit their own popular recipes for others to share and vote on as most popular. However, while Cordray says there are GreatRecipes links to such popular Hearst sites as delish.com, redbookmag.com, goodhousekeeping.com and countryliving.com, there is none at the moment with the rapidly growing (both print and digital) Food Network. Reason is that FN is co-owned by Hearst and the namesake Food Network cable channel, so copyright and other legalities will have to be resolved.
