BREAKING NEWS & VIEWS
Food Network's Secret Word Is 'ASME'Tuesday, March 30, 2010 To promote the one-year-old Food Network magazine's first National Magazine Award nomination (general excellence/500,000-to-1 million circulation), founding publisher Vicki Wellington has commissioned a "sweet truck" that will park outside of four Manhattan ad agencies this Thursday (April 1—no fooling!). Agency personnel and passersby who say the word "ASME" (American Society of Magazine Editors), which administers the National Magazine Awards (to be presented on April 22), will receive a sweet treat and a plastic egg. Plus, 50 of the eggs will have an assortment of prizes inside, including dinner at Bobby Flay's and a tour of the Food Network kitchen. The one "good egg," if you want to call it that, will have the grand prize of going on the Food Network cruise. All the info is on Food Network's Twitter page.
