Entertainment Weekly Will Have a Major Presence at Comic-ConTuesday, July 19, 2011 Comic-Con is the fan-fest for comic-book fanatics who never lost their childhood fantasy of being Superman, Batman, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, and Spiderman. It is perfect for Entertainment Weekly to target the projected 100,000 EW's presence will be its fifth, and this year those who attend can see EW panels featuring Jon Favreau (Cowboys & Aliens) and Guillermo del Toro (Don't Be Afraid of the Dark) on "The Future of Pop Culture as well as a Lost retrospective hosted by staff writers Jeff Jensen and Dan Snierson. Then, on Saturday (July 23), managing editor Jess Cagle and publisher Jason Wagenheim will host the closing night party at San Diego's Hard Rock Hotel. For those who can't attend, the whole show will be streamed on ew.com in partnership with NowLive, which specializes is streaming live entertainment events. Also, with the Infomous-powered Interactive Tag Cloud, ew.com users will have "access to the latest-breaking news and videos from the convention floor in real time." July 2010 ew.com Comic-Con coverage lifted its page views to 80.2 million for the month, +10.6% versus June 2010's 72.5 million. July 22 EW cover is fittingly, The New Spiderman, as Andrew Garfield (last seen in The Social Network) takes the "Peter Parker" film role made famous by Tobey Maguire.
