Editorial Director Fabien Baron Rejoins InterviewWednesday, June 10, 2009 The fashion consultant—who advised the late Liz Tilberis at Harper's Bazaar during the 1990s—made plenty of noise at Interview last summer when he turned the late Andy Warhol's 1969 creation into a perfect-bound magazine (min, June 30, 2008). In January 2009, Baron was out, apparently due to differences with co-editorial director Glenn O'Brien. Now, with O'Brien himself out, Baron is back in. (Publisher Alan Katz, who left last December, has not been so fortunate.) Announcement was made Wednesday (June 10) by Brant Publications president Peter Brant. Supposedly, per the New York Post (also June 10), he had given BP authority to son Ryan Brant, but the PR accompanying Baron's rejoining warranted dad's name. Just the latest chapter in the Brant family soap opera. Peter and Sandy Brant co-owned BP until their mid-1990s divorce. Sandy managed BP day-to-day until January 2008, when she sold her 50% share to Peter. Sandy and 1990-2008 Interview editor Ingrid Sischy then left to run Vanity Fair editions in Germany/Italy/Spain, and that paved the way for Baron's hiring—the first time.
