Details Curates Fashion Bloggers for new Style Network
Friday, February 22, 2013
This week, Details launched the Details Style Network, a community of men’s blogs and online publications. The Network, which is curated by Details editorial team led by editor in chief since 2000 Dan Peres, will be updated several times a day by contributors from around the world.
The Style Network will substantially increase the volume of content on details.com and provide exposure for participating bloggers. Contributors will primarily cover core categories like fashion and grooming, but will also feature lifestyle posts about travel, design, gadgets, and cocktails. Details, which reports 24% year to year growth in 2012 over 2011, expects the network to generate a significant increase its site traffic. Collectively, the community of blogs represents an audience of more than 10 million readers.
The Network launched with more than 50 contributors hand-picked by Details editors. Launch members include Bryan Boy, Airows, Cool Material, Get Kempt, Daily Mister, Secret Forts, Ivy Style, The Bengal Stripe, Hodinkee, Liam Saw This, Men’s Threads, Monsieur Jerome, Grungy Gentleman, and I Am Galla.
The new vertical will be as a dedicated channel on Details.com. Readers will be able to use pull-down menus to sort through content by category (fashion, grooming, and lifestyle) as well as by contributor and top stories. By clicking on a post, readers can view the full entry, read an abbreviated site bio, browse more posts from the contributor, and follow a link back to the originating site. Readers can also vote for posts they like with a click of a button; “top stories” will be aggregated in real time.
The Style Network also features responsive design, a nav bar that locks to the top of the screen when scrolling, as well as integration with social platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Tumblr. The Network is powered by Tid.al. The Ti.dal platform allows Details editors to manage content via a customized dashboard. With a simple tag, contributors can add content to the editorial cue for approval. Brands will be able to sponsor the network. The launch partner is Mr Porter and Zegna is lined up as the March sponsor.
