Boxscore Preview: Hotties and Yoga Poses Break Through in AprilThursday, June 21, 2012 As we pull together the data for this week’s min Digital Boxscores of online traffic for April, we confess that no clear patterns emerge other than The bumps had more to do with special content programs than any seasonality. For instance Maxim.com reports that its page views were up slightly to over 66.85 million, but its audience grew more substantially to over 3.8 million uniques. Director of business development Matthew Goldstein tells minonline that the upward trajectory is coming off of a major site redesign from the first quarter. And the redo made sure that Maxim puts its best assets forward, namely the ladies. Features like the Maxim Hot 100, Hometown Hotties competition and Maxim Gamer Girl Watch are now enjoying more dynamic presentations. On the Hometown Hotties page you can search the entire database going back to 2006, parsed by state and where they reached in the competition. Meanwhile at YogaJournal.com, the site had a massive month, seeing more than 83% more visitors than March. The reason, according to CEO Efrem Zimbalist III, was that the magazine and site readers were asked to strike and send their best poses. “This is our second annual Model Search,” he tells us. “We invite visitors to send us a photo of themselves in a Yoga pose. We then ask the audience to vote on the best photos and publish the winners in the magazine.
