BREAKING NEWS & VIEWS
Alan Webber Is No 'Capitalist Tool' Webber is the epitome of capitalism, having launched FC on a shoestring. But thanks to the 1990s' tech wave and support from investors led by Mort Zuckerman, FC fetched $300 million-plus from Gruner + Jahr in December 2000. Less than five years later, Joe Mansueto pulled it and Inc. out of the G+J scrap heap for a mere $35 million. Webber makes a good point about both political parties needing to stop the polarization. But doesn't his belief that capitalism needs to change implictly work in favor of the Democrats? I fear most Republicans believe that pretty much everything about American capitalism today is working just fine as it is.
