Kent Brownridge Steps Down as OK! General Manager  Announcement late Thursday (January 29) came after a four-month tenure deemed "successful" by the press release. Brownridge will continue as a consultant for OK! British owner Richard Desmond's Northern & Shell North America Ltd. Successor as GM is N&S chief financial officer Vince Ohanyan. Brownridge is best known for his 1974-2005 stint at Wenner Media (mostly as GM), and he was subsequently the point person for Quadrangle Capital Partners II's circa-$250 million purchase of Maxim and Blender from Felix Dennis in June 2007. Brownridge was GM of the renamed Alpha Media Group through last August, and he joined OK! in September. Also stepping down... OK! editor-in-chief Susan Toepfer. The Quick & Simple/Rosie alumna was a Brownridge hire. Predecessor Sarah Ivens (now editor-at large) will serve in an interim basis. Brownridge steps down...again?, Berner and Reader's Digest get a puff piece in the Times (how well they're doing!) back during the holidays just read the news today oh boy about the Reader's Digest layoffs, Conde Nast scrambling, NYT crumbling...you know what?...the majority (not all) of the old guard, page 6, media elite, arrogant, holier than thou scarf over the shoulder crew needs to get blown out...buying a fancy dinner at Waverly Inn does not a smart business person make...adios amigos...dream Madoff dreams tonight...sheesh...what a group of overly lucky frauds...
