Plenty of Nothing: Mag and Site Will Close After laying off much of its staff last week, Plenty Magazine called it quits altogether, according to The Daily Green. While some other ecologically minded titles in the consumer and b2b categories seem to enjoy the updraft from the green movement, Plenty editor-in-chief says “all finance dried up for us,” at Jeff Bercovici’s Portfolio.com blog. Daily Green reports there will be no severance packages and that both print and Web site will close. There is no sign of Plenty's shuttering at the attractive and functional Web site. Ironically, the site has succeeded in attracting major brand advertisers like Welch's, Food Network and Dove chocolate, precisely the kinds of advertisers many Web properties covet. Recent attempts to raise funds apparently failed. If you have breaking news to share please contact Steve Smith at ssmith@accessintel.com COMMENTS
