Thursday, November 20, 2008

Condé Nast is closing its men's weekly publication DNR as well as the website DNRnews.com, making the Nov. 24 issue its last. Women's Wear Daily will now pick up men's fashion and retail coverage in its paper and on the website.

A spokesperson for Condé Nast told min that some staff will be integrated with WWD and that EIC John Birmingham will stay through the intergration period, but it is unclear what will happen after that. DNR and Footwear News publisher Jay Spaleta will continue to publish FN. A small team of reporters and sales staff will continue to stay on at WWD. The spokesperson would not comment on job losses.

WWD will publish WWDMen’s reports every Thursday beginning in January, special sections during key fashion events, and WWDMen’s Collections magazines twice each year.
