UBM To Cut Corporate Communications Dept.
Thursday, November 20, 2008

In February, United Business Media announced that it was reorganizing CMP Technology (CMP Media) into four sleeker, market-focused divisions: TechWeb, Everything Channel, TechInsights and Think Services.

min has been told by sources within UBM that the company is now further flattening the organization in response to the down market by eliminating its corporate communications department. As of Jan. 1, 2009, each division will be responsible for its own communications, according to the sources at UBM. Some positions will shift to the four divisions and some will be lost, though it is unclear at this time exactly what that number will be.

Check back in the Nov. 24 issue of min's b2b for more details and on minonline as this story develops.
