Hearst Tests Food Magazine Waters
Monday, September 8, 2008

Hearst and Food Network have teamed up to develop a food and entertaining magazine, with the first test issue on newsstands October 14. The magazine, simply called Food Network Magazine, will have an inital distribution of 300,000. The  second issue is due in January, also with a distribution of 300,000 if all goes well.

The magazine is aiming at both food "do-ers" and food "watchers" (aka Food Network fans), offering pages of accessible recipes and tips, as well as a look at Food Network stars.

Editing the magazine is Maile Carpenter, who left her executive editor post at Every Day with Rachael Ray in January of 2008 to work on this launch.
