After serving only 15 months as president of the Ebony/Jet Entertainment Group as well as group publisher of both Ebony and Jet magazines, Kenard Gibbs has left the company. Gibbs told min this morning, "It's simply time for me to move on." Gibbs' next move is still under wraps, but he is pursuing other publishing ventures. His replacement at Ebony/Jet has not yet been announced.

As former president of the Quincy Jones creation VIBE, Gibbs' specialty was building brands beyond the page. In a interview with min two weeks ago, Gibbs said he was working on several such extensions for both Ebony and Jet, including an Ebony/Jet YouTube channel as well as a documentary about the Ebony Fashion Fair. "My passion for hip-hop culture has taken me to amazing places," said Gibbs in the interview. Check back with minonline to see where his passion takes him next.
