Lifetime Networks, CosmoGIRL! and the nonpartisan, nonprofit organization Declare Yourself have launched a contest to find the next generation of women leaders in politics. The 16 winners of the 2008 Future Frontrunners contest will meet the country’s top women in politics at a Future Frontrunners summit at either the Democratic National Convention in Denver or the Republican National Convention in Saint Paul, Minn.

Winning entrants responding to the question  “What would you do if you were president?” will be selected by Meredith Wagner, EVP, Lifetime Networks, Susan Schulz, editor-in-chief, CosmoGIRL! and Diana Nguyen, associate director, Declare Yourself, among other judges.

Lifetime Networks will air a public service announcement featuring Ashlee Simpson on Lifetime, Lifetime Movie Network, Lifetime Real Women and myLifetime.com throughout the month of May to mid-June to encourage young women to enter the contest. CosmoGIRL! will promote the Future Frontrunners in its June/July issue and on cosmogirl.com. Additionally, Declare Yourself will highlight the contest on its website and through e-newsletters.

Future Frontrunners, first created in 2004, is part of Lifetime Networks’ Every Woman Counts campaign to encourage women to speak out on issues, vote and run for office. The contest ends June 16.
