Nina Garcia is big with Project Runway, which is switching its affiliation from Elle to Marie Claire. And, on the television side, Runway is moving from Bravo to Lifetime.  But because the latter does not take effect until September 1, 2008, Elle still employs her until then.

However, it is in the capacity as editor-at-large, not the high-profile fashion director that was the 13-year Elle veteran’s job since 2000. Then, when Garcia and Runway head to Marie Claire, she becomes a high-profile fashion director again.

Both Marie Claire and Lifetime are partially Hearst Corp.-owned, which explains why Runway changed magazine partnerships—and why Garcia is changing jobs.
