Dykstra Sues Doubledown Over 'Players Club' Control
According to Doubledown, Dykstra was demanding bigger, more expensive additions to the magazine without the means to pay for them. Dykstra insisted the magazine launch as a monthly, publish in a much larger physical size, that Doubledown create a Spanish-language edition and even hire an extra design consultant. When their relationship went south, American Express Publishing stepped in to take over as publisher. Doubledown also strongly advised against the $400k launch party at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, but Dystra went ahead with it anyway. Min attended the event and we have to say, it was a highly glossy party, complete with gormet food prepared by Chef Marco Canora and a Grammy-winning hip-hop violinist, not to mention the pro athlete and celebrity guests. In all, Doubledown claims Dykstra owes the company $587,210. Click here for the NY Post's story. More Breaking News & Views
