Forbes was not in the picture last December when launch veteran Don Welsh announced the planned February 2008 startup Mountain Time--the newspaper distributed magazine serving affluent Rocky Mountain ski/resort communities (Aspen/Vail/Park City/Sun Valley/Lake Tahoe, etc.). But Welsh tells min that differences with investors stalled the project until--per chance--he met Forbes president (since July 1999) Jim Berrien at a dinner. "Jim was enthusiastic, because he saw that Mountain Time is complementary to (Forbes' 18-year-old lifestyle magazine) Forbes Life, and he quickly got the backing of the Forbes family and (minority Forbes Media investor) Elevation Partners. Now, it's a firm 'go.'"

Fittingly for Forbes, the debut for the 20-times-per year Forbes Life Mountain Time is Friday, July 4. It is a reminder that the family used to own American Heritage (sold to Edwin Grovesnor last year), and that Steve Forbes unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for president in 1996 and 2000.

Is there anyway for me to receive the MountainTime in Boulder, CO? In Jackson, WY right now at a hospital and am enjoying the read. Thanks.
