David Steward, CEO of F+W Publications, has told minonline today that starting Monday, David Blansfield will take over as president of the magazine division at F+W. Blansfield comes from Penton Publishing, where he was senior vice president of the design engineering group, flagshipped by the 1,500 ad page+ Machine Design.  Blansfield replaces Colin Ungaro, who left a month ago

“David’s got an amazing track record of building and growing vital, profitable businesses, and a great track record of growth and managing multi-platform businesses,” says Steward. “People in B2B actually have a lot to teach those of us that are consumer. They are ahead of the curve in terms of getting the most out of the combination of properties: magazines, Web, and face-to-face events.”

"I’m going to go in to my Penton office on Monday and give a handshake and a goodbye and a sendoff to my staff," says Blansfield.  Then it's off to the new gig later in the day.
